You can get a super fine, razor edge back on the blade easily with just a strop or hone steel. The blade is 3mm thick 01 carbon tool steel. Overall length is fractionally over 8 inches. It is also ideal for all kinds of food preparation around camp . This knife is not suitable for carving wood, battoning wood or cutting through bone - as the edge is too fine.
